Year 2 was an unexpected one, a crazy one, and a great one. I spent the beginning of the year getting to know my students, I made new teacher friends, I began co-teaching 4th grade math (yes – 4th grade math – yikes!!), I joined a few school committees (and even presented our team ideas in front of the entire staff), I spent the best $15 on a lamp (the “thinking light”) that completely changed one little girl’s whole entire writing block around, our staff converted all we knew to digital learning in 3 total days, we spent 46 school days digital learning (woah!!), and my students thrived on video calls every single day since. I am proud of my students, my colleagues, and myself. What a crazy year this has been! Although it ended in a way that nobody had ever envisioned, I am very proud of this school year. I have been so nervous to kickstart this new blogging adventure and kept waiting on “the right time” and decided to stop waiting and make “the right time” right now! Although it’s only my second year of teaching, I think all would agree, this is the weirdest last day of school ever! We will be ending our school year at 2pm today as families parade by in cars while we wave goodbye to our students, standing 6 feet apart on the sidewalk of our school – can you even believe that?! It’s been 11 weeks since we’ve seen our kiddos faces (in person and not through the computer screen) and I couldn’t be more excited! If (-not (Get-Command choco. We made it!! It’s the last day of the 2019-2020 school year.
